Long-Term Care Homes - Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards / Management Information Systems Project

OHRS/MIS is an exciting initiative dedicated to providing the LTCH sector with reliable means to collect and report OHRS/MIS compliant financial and statistical data. During this session, project team members will be available to provide information, answer questions and prepare you for reporting OHRS/MIS. By doing so, you’ll already have some of the required business processes in place when you sign-up for the project between now and 2012.

OHRS/MIS provides homes with a number of key benefits, including:

  • Access to useful, high quality standardized data
  • An enhanced ability to track trends and benchmark with your peers
  • A more efficient reporting process to meet accountability requirements
  • An opportunity to demonstrate efficiencies in service delivery and to implement best practices in your operations and business policies.

Two (2) individuals per home are welcome to attend. The session will be of particular interest to accountants, administrators or financial analysts - people involved in day-to-day financial reporting. To register, please contact our Support Centre at 1.866.909.5600 or 416.314.7365 or complete the attached RSVP Form and email it to OHRSLTCH.moh@ontario.ca

ABOUT CCIM:

The LTCH OHRS/MIS project is implemented by the Community Care Information Management (CCIM) program. CCIM provides seamlessly-integrated, community based client care where all service providers can securely share and access consistent and accurate information electronically. The LTCH OHRS/MIS is following similar methodology and implementation as our sister project LTCH Resident Assessment Instrument MDS 2.0 project.

We look forward to seeing you soon,

The LTCH OHRS/MIS Project team

Governance Resource & Toolkit for Voluntary Integrations

Toolkit

Appendices

The toolkit was developed through a joint initiative of five Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs), associations representing the health service providers funded through the LHINs, and the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. The project was initiated in November 2007, in response to early consultations between the LHINs and health service providers regarding the provisions for voluntary integration in the Local Health Systems Integration Act, 2006.

The Act places an obligation on LHINs and on health service providers to identify opportunities to integrate services, which captures a broad range of activities including coordination, partnering with others, and transferring, merging or amalgamating services.

The purpose of the toolkit is to:

  • Assist health service provider boards to understand evolving LHIN practices, processes and expectations arising from interpretations and applications of the act as illustrated by the experience of the participating LHINs;
  • Support health service provider boards in understanding their respective roles and responsibilities in providing appropriate leadership to their organizations and in developing strategies to work with one another and with the LHIN Boards on voluntary integration initiatives
