Integrated Health System Design
FACT: To improve the effectiveness of our Local Health System we need a plan to guide the distribution and integration of services in North Simcoe Muskoka.
To improve the overall performance of the local health system NSM LHIN will:
- Determine what services are available, where and for how much
- Examine utilization of health services and service provider profiles
- Gather information on our present population, how they use the health care system and how well the system meets their needs
- Identify gaps in or duplication of health care services
- Gather information on how the needs of residents will change in the future and how health services will need to change to meet those needs
- Incorporate future capacity considerations
NSM will consider the entire continuum of health care, from wellness to illness care, rehabilitation and supportive care, and will address services offered in the community and by hospitals.
Designing an integrated health system will help to ensure we meet the future health needs of the North Simcoe Muskoka population and ensure sustainable, cost effective, quality health care.
